Week 3: Let's get to work!

Welcome back everyone!     This week was quite interesting for me, unfortunately due to important things happening at work I was unable to go on the field trip scheduled for Wednesday. Instead later in the afternoon I took the opportunity to start creating file folders for the Spring 2026 semester.  Over the weekend I will also be creating batch folders for each interviewee from story day. These folders will serve as a location for myself and the other VHP team members to keep our work in order for future archival and ensure that everything has it's proper place. I love a good color coded organization, but I also love when I can see the efforts we've made come to fruition. Going into week 4 I will be getting starting on the processing of  documents for a story day event that took place back in November of 2025 some major work has to be done here but I am excited to have a one on one with my team and see what we can achieve. And hopefully we will have many more ...

Week 2: First Tabling Event! and Clerical Fun

Welcome back readers! Another good week has come to pass, This week was quite eventful. On Wednesday we had our team meeting, we addressed the team member changes and did some metadata training. I found this to be incredibly beneficial especially in a world where the job market is not so forgiving.     I stayed behind after this meeting to get more updates on what team VHP would be focusing on for the semester. I had decided early on that I wanted to get ahead on prep work so that everything would be ready for when processing time came. I will be working on folder creation for the team and more copy folders so that we can create and edit batches without endangering the origi...

Week 1: Welcome to Spring !

Welcome everyone !     I am reigning in Spring semester by continuing my internship with the Veterans History Project team. I am so lucky to have this opportunity again and can't wait to see where this semester takes me. Starting from now I feel a strong urge to cherish every memory as this year will be my last at UCF. The week started off on a great note, it began with a quick interview and clerical tasks like filling out paperwork to get the internship going. I was alerted to an e-mail that I had been elected to be a team lead this semester. It is a big task to take on but I feel this opportunity will be great for my professional and educational experience. I have been in charge of leading and  training people before but I feel I have the ability to be more flexible since it is not for a corporate setting, but for an internship/school setting I will come back to the difference of this point.     Our first meeting with everyone was on Wednesday afternoon ...
