Week 2: First Tabling Event! and Clerical Fun
Welcome back readers!
Another good week has come to pass, This week was quite eventful. On Wednesday we had our team meeting, we addressed the team member changes and did some metadata training. The metadata training was a great refresh for me from my experiences last semester. I have started taking every meeting as an opportunity to be a better team lead. It helps me to better answer questions my team might have. We had a brief conversation on professionalizing the skills we have or are learning. I found this to be incredibly beneficial especially in a world where the job market is not so forgiving.
I stayed behind after this meeting to get more updates on what team VHP would be focusing on for the semester. I had decided early on that I wanted to get ahead on prep work so that everything would be ready for when processing time came. I will be working on folder creation for the team and more copy folders so that we can create and edit batches without endangering the original copies. Aside from this work I had the wonderful pleasure of attending my first tabling event of the semester at the Ladies Tea in the Lake Nona VA Medical Center. At this event we were able to promote what VHP does, it was a wonderful turn out where we spoke to many female veterans who felt it important to express their interest to tell their stories. I am looking forward to more interviews in the near future for these wonderful ladies and for all the networking connections that will also bring plenty more opportunities to conduct interviews at events we may be going to for the first time. I will edit this post later on with pictures from the event but unfortunately I have not received them yet.
Until Next Time.
