Week 9: Spring Break is upon us.

 Welcome back everyone,

This is the week before spring break, everyone has been working diligently and it is crazy to think that in just a few short weeks the semester will be over. I have reflected on my time in the program this semester as well as trying to do my best with that I have been given. I will always be grateful to what VHP has allowed me to experience and learn. VHP means so much to me and while this is going to be my final semester I hope to help someday even after i've graduated. What we do has impacted me so much, and has even inspired me to do more in our veteran community. With that let jump into work that has been happening. All Av Logs and Abstracts have been completed on the current veteran file I was working on. It feels like it took forever to complete  but now I get to move onto transcription which should go by quickly now that I have all the basic information. During my spring break I will be using my free time to work on another veteran file and get that done before the next interviews and story day happens. I want to make sure that all the work the other team members and I have done will not impact potentially getting as many interviews processed as possible.

To me it feels like there was not much to do this semester in terms of reorganizing batch folders and that at times i had to make my work stretch to share between the team. However it has all focused around transcription work and getting these folders together from start to finish one at a time. This takes a lot longer i now know so having only a few interviews to organize is actually a good thing. I know archiving takes time and so do the final review of files so, I am happy to have learned how the batch folders come together before they get archived. I have come full circle in the life of a working file. I have also had the pleasure of reflecting on being a team lead this semester and I don't know if it's because my team is absolutely amazing or if it's because i know i can trust my team to get their work done without me asking but it has felt more like a normal team with no leader than having to be on top of everyone and constantly checking in. Of course I do my regular check ins but i find that utilizing a resource like teams has really helped. If i messaged my team the way I message them on teams i fear they may find my communication to be too much too often. One of the best things i've bene told it that one of my team members alwasy know that i have their back and am available to listen when they need help, and i never realized just how much that means to me.

Until Next Time!
